Can A Missed Depo Cause Pregnancy?

I was on the depo shot for 2 year then got the implnon, I've had it since June of 2013. Cant remember when my last period was, I used thw restroom and noticed a dark spot on my panties, looked similar to melted chocolate but more of a red tone and when I whipped there was some blood not alot but a little. Does this mean im pregnant or is this normal? Should I see a doctor?

Hello there.

This dark brown spotting is because of long term use of progesterone in the form of depot and implanon.
Usually there are no periods or very minimal bleeding with long term use. However you havent mentioned about your last period date and if there was any gap between switching from depot to implanon.

But still to be sure, you can just get an ultrasound to see if things are fine.

take care.
