Can Chronic Spongiotic Dermatitis Occur On The Face?

I have a red rash on my face under my nose and on my chin. It seems to be the worst after I shave. After a few days, the skin flakes off . It was diagnosed as Chronic spongiotic dermatitis. Everything I read says that that does not occur on the face. What do I do now?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Chronic spongiotic dermatitis is a histopathological diagnosis. And spongiosis usually occur in Acute Dermatitis.
You could be having Seborrheic dermatitis. You can apply Hydrocortisone cream twice daily on affected areas up to 2 weeks. If you did not get any improvement, visit your nearby physician/dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
