Cheer up contains escitalopram. It is used for treatment of
depression. It is not used for treatment of insomnia (loss of sleep). In fact, it causes insomnia as a side effect. I don’t know why your doctor has prescribed you Cheer up. But it won’t help in
sleep induction. It might worsen your
sleeplessness.
Are you suffering from depression because of your disease???
Feeling sad???
Sleeplessness is most probably due to
levothyroxine which you are taking for
hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine causes loss of sleep. You are taking high dose of levothyroxine because your TSH is very high. Once
TSH level will come down, your doctor will reduce dose of levothyroxine. At that time, you might get relief from sleeplessness. Anyway, as of now you continue the prescribed dose of levothyroxine. In 3 – 4 months time, your TSH level might normalize.
Advice
1. Continue Cheer up as suggested by your doctor
2.
Zolpidem 10 mg per oral at bed time for 30 days for sleep induction
3. Start workout in gym at least half an hour in a day for 5 days in a week
4. Do meditation
5. Avoid smoking, coffee, caffeinated beverages and alcohol
Sleep induction pills are used for short term control of insomnia. It is an addicting medicine so avoid using it for more than 1 month.
