Doctor , a ptient in my family is suffereing from dysentery for the last 10 days ( three - four bloody stools a day) , she is taking CIFRAN CT for the last four days but no benefit . Todat doctor has suggested Ceftriaxone sodium injection

Hi,
Cifran ct contain ciprofloxacin and tinidazole. Former mainly acts on gram negative n later upon anarobes ( mostly covers micro organism causing loose stool) . Ceftriaxone is 3rd generation cefalosporine and act upon gm positive n gm negative bacteria so adding up ll increase the spectrum of action and both can be given .
