Six weeks ago, I was bitten on the shin by a dog. The wound was swollen and the bruising was severe. I was on vacation. For one week, I took clindamycin and the bite remained ugly. The next week, the doctor switched me to amox trk. I finished the antibiotics and returned home. A week later, I became extremely sick with watery diarrhea, so frequent that I slept on the bathroom floor. I had a fever of just over 100F. Things got a bit better on their own, though I seem to have developed bloody hemorrhoids and a few days went by, and now I have mucus without any stool, and urgent need to go to the bathroom at least ten times a day. I'm tired and wonder what next. Of course I will see a doctor, but what can I do in the meantime to reduce the colitis-like symptoms?
