Boils On Clitoral Hood, Surgically Drained. On Antibiotics, Steroids. Prevention Of Boils?
Hello, my daughter who is 22 years old gets boils on her clitoral hood. I had to take to the emergency room once and they had to drain it. gave her steroids and an antibotic. she has one again and is scared to death to go get treatment because the first on traumatized her so bad. Why does she get these and how can she prevent them?
Hello
Thanks for your query.
There are various causes of boils on the clitoris.
One reason could be recurrent infection of hair follicles, or a persistent infection for eg. yeast etc.
Hidradenitis suppuritiva is a disorder where the glands get blocked leading to recurrent boils.
She could be injuring or abrading her clitoris with her nails etc, leading to infections.
Certain cysts on the vagina become infected and present in this way.
She should have a thorough check up with a reputed gynecologist for the exact diagnosis, and treatment accordingly.
Take care
Hi thanks for your question.
There could be few reasons for recurrence of boil
The first being the previous boil was incompletly drained and incompletely treated. The second could be poor local hygein and remote possibility of increased blood sugar.Get her blood glucose level checkked to rule out increased blood sugar level.as a cause of recurrent boil.Consult a nearvy physician who may be able to evaluate your daughter for recurrent boils and may treat accordingly.
Hope this answers your question..l
