Blood Test Shows Paratyphi AH 1:40, Paratyphi BH Negative. Suggestive Of Paratyphoid Or Viral Fever?
Hi XXX, I am suffering from fever from past 7 days. Before this, I just recovered from food posioning.. My temperature varies from the range of 94 F-104 F. I used have paracetamol and my temperature used to fall by 94 F from 103 F. Just recently, i met my doctor and he suggested to take a blood test . The following are the result of my report. Typhi O : 1:40 Typhi H : Negative Paratyphi AH : 1:40 Paratyphi BH : Negative The doctor i consulted said I have paratyphoid but after second opinion the doctor said you just have viral. I am confused and the temperature seems not to decrease at all.

You are having fever which is intermittent,there are many causes of fever like malaria,Viral Fever,UTI,LRTI,TB, and Typhoid(Enteric Fever).
Your widal test titre of 1:40 is not significant.so as to diagnose Enteric fever which depends on clinical correlation.
This test is not useful as many false positive results are seen and blood culture is better in first week.
A rising titre is more significant.to have some significance it must be 1:160 .
You should visit good Physician and after examination and appropriate investigations once diagnosis is confirmed it can be treated easily.
Please do not ignore your health some times fever may indicate some serious disease.
