Blood And Phlegm In Stool, Cramps, Diarrhea, Hemorrhoids
HI my name is ann, I noticed that my stool has blood and some phlegm . It was last Sept 28 3 pm thats the last time i ate from a burger stand. I ate nothing for the next 12 hours due to my busy sched. then i ate rice and soup after a few hours i felt some cramps like what i feel whenever i have diarrhea . so i pooped and my stool was not that much compared to the normal and it was kinda soft and with blood and phlegm i just pooped once. the next day, i poed again and my stoll still has blood and still soft, still feeling the cramps and it was like 7 times that i pooped. I was tracing what i might have eaten or drunken. So i also switch to drinking alkaline pruified water. the next day im ok. what could be the reason. I have hemorrhoids but i should know if the blood is fom my hemorrhoids.

From the symptoms that you have mentioned above , there can be 2 possibilities
1. You could be having dysentry : which can be caused by bacteria (shigella) virus or parasite ( entamoeba) . you need to rehydrate yourself well take plenty of fluids . Since it has already subsided you dont need any antibiotics , you just take plenty of fluids.
2. as you said it could also be hemmorhoids but less likely to be associated with cramps and diarrhea ,
you can have a per rectal examination for the same

Very frequently hemorrhoids bleeds, especially internal ones while defecation. If you will note after /while you have defecation fresh blood on your stool, on tissue paper, then certainly presence of blood is due to hemorrhoids. But there can be bloody diarrhea or dysentery ( bacterial infections) ,but is very unlikely in your case, because dysentery must be accompanied by sever bloody diarrhea, fever, vomiting,alterated general status, other general signs and symptoms , that not in your case. I would advice you as I diagnostic method anoscopy or colonoscopy , normal diet, sitz bath, antihemorrhoidal creams, suppositories. In case of confirmed hemorrhoids they can be excised surgically, or using sclerotherapy, ligation with rubber band.
