Black Specks In Stool. Diagnosed With GERD, Tested Positive For H Pylori. Taking Antibiotics. Cause Of Black Specks?
Hello I was diagnosed with Gerd/gastritis and tested positive for H. Pylori. I've been on 2 kinds of antibiotics and one acid reducer for the past 3 days. Its a full 2 week long tretment. Yesterday I noticed these tiny black specks in my stool. Not red. My stool is soft (it breaks apart really easily) and light brown. Could it be that I have ulcers? It is from GI bleeding? Or could this be the antibiotics working, eradicating my body from h.pylori? Im a 29 year old female. Thanks?
Presence of black specks in stool can be indicative of GI bleeding, especially from gastritis/gastric ulcer. The blood combines with the acid present in the stomach to produce black colouration. Investigations like stool examination and endoscopy can be done to detect the cause of bleeding. If any active site is found, it should be immediately managed to prevent any further complication. So, kindly visit your treating Physician & discuss regarding this.
