Anxiety Attacks, Shaking And Nervous When In A Group And Need To Speak. Prescribed Setraline. Is Using Oxycontin And Percocet Recommended?

I have had anxiety attacks and I find myself shaking and very nervous when placed in a group where I have to speak.
My doctor has given me, sertraline and I find it just takes the edge off. I would like to have something stronger. I have used oxycontin and Percocet and both have worked for me.
How can I get these medications without a prescription?

Hi,
For your this problem consult psychiatrist only.
First get examined properly and diagnose correctly.
Sertalin is usually given in depression.
So first find out by your psychiatrist weather you are having anxiety or depression.
Once this goes in chronic stage, it is difficult to treat and you have to take treatment for long time.
Ok and take care.

Addiction Medicine Specialist Dr. Preeti Parakh's  Response
Hi,

It appears to me that you are suffering from an anxiety disorder called social phobia and if this is the case, your doctor has done well in prescribing sertraline. I would have liked to know what dose you are taking to suggest if a hike is possible or not. You find percocet and oxycontin helpful as they give you a small high which increases your self confidence and makes you feel better. But using them to treat social anxiety is like using a gun to kill a mosquito. The benefits will certainly be outweighed by the risks.

There are safer alternatives available. If sertraline cannot be hiked further, other SSRIs may be tried. I also prescribe propranolol in low dosages to my patients with social anxiety to reduce the tremors, sweating and palpitations.

Hope this helps. Best wishes.
