Angiography Showing Occlusions In Mid Section, Blockage. Thallium Stress Test Advised. Treatment?

Hi! My mother who is 63 under went Angiography, RCA had 100 % occlusions in mid Section and Left Main showed 40 % blockage, to be safer side as suggested by doc we went for CT angio, which reconfirmed the results however instead of 40 % blockage on Left Main it showed around 25 %, the CX too is 100 % occluded. Now the doc is suggesting thallium stress test to check for flow in LAD, as he said angioplasty cannot be performed as chances of success are very less. I am confused as to what we should do

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Your mother is having Coronary artery disease and her angiography shows 100% occlusion of RCA and Circumflex artery and LAD is blocked 25 to 49%?
Stress thallium is suggested to see area of ischemia, and level of collateral flow which develops and perfusion is maintained by them.
As 100% blocks are there called chronic total occlusion angioplasty may not be possible or may not give desired result.
Please get her stress Thallium and then discuss the possibility of CABG that is Coronary Artery Bypass surgery if possible, can be indicated in her case.
Please discuss with cardiologist and Cardio Thoracic surgeon.
Wish her good health.
Take care.
Good Luck.
