6 Year Child, Stomach Pain. Diagnosed As Constipation. Suggestions?

My child 6 years old has been having on and off stomach pain no diarhhea or no vomitting since close to 2 weeks now. 2 days ago saw the doc and told the same above symptoms and she checked and told may be he has constipation. OK diagnosis over I was happy. giving him fiber rich foods than usual(our usual diet is very healthy and no constipaiton history so far)

but only today i was analysing and thinking and putting things together. everytime he gets it it is after having lunch or dinner.
My mother had gotton that problem long time ago when she travelled to a place not good in sanitary condition.
Can it be that?

Thanks

Hello & thanks for posting on HCM
I would suggest increase fluid intake as well as fibre intake ( wheat bread, fruits green veggies ) etc in his diet - that will correct constipation & hence stomach pains will stop as well.
If the pain is happening after lunch / dinner it may be suggesting overfilling of stomach in association with having constipated, as system is not clearing up - Does he have any difficulty passing urine as one needs to make sure it is not related to urinary infection.
It is difficult to judge if related to visit where sanitation is poor as normally it would cause stomach pains with cramps & also diarrhoea & stool examination clinches diagnosis.
Hope he gets well soon
