30 Weeks Pregnant. Tests Done. Are The Results Normal?
Age of my wife -44 years - this is the first child since marrying (17 years back) As per LMP - 30 weeks 6 days BY USG: BPD 72mm - 28weeks 6 days HC 270mm - 29weeks - 2 days AC - 255mm- 29 weeks 5 days FL - 55mm - 29 weeks 2 days Average gestational age by USG 29 weeks 1 day EFW - 1402 gms - +/2 250 ms Maturity Gr-II Placenta is posterior.
I want to know the detail and why this difference. Is it normal. What is Gr-II Maturity?
To determine the age of a fetus , different measurements are taken by ultrasound and then averaged to obtain a likely age based on the combination of measurements.
BPD stands for biparietal diameter which is measurement of baby's head from one point to the other. HC is head circumference AC is abdominal circumference FL is femur length, the femur is a bone in the thigh.
There would be slight differences in the age using the measurements but these differences are not significant.
Maturity GR 11 refers to the maturity of the placenta. This grade is appropriate for the age of the baby.
I hope this helps
