Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If the fever is not responding to the paracetamol there is no harm in shifting to mefanamic acid, except the duration of work for the Meftal-P is longer than paracetamol.

Every medicine has got one or the other side effect. We have to weigh between the beneficial effects and the side effects. So in my opinion there are no significant negative points in using both the drugs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Irshad H Naqvi
