18 Year Old Having Irregular Periods, Acne, Increasing Amount Of Body Hair. What Could Be The Problem?

Hi, I first got my period when I was 11 years old, you could say it was sorta stable or close to stable and it lasted for 7 or 8 days, now Im 18 and this year my period was very unstable and it comes like every 45 days or maybe it skips a month or two, I dont know why this is happening, I was stressed out this year a lot and I moved to a different country, but now im settled in, so my period should be back to the way it was before. Plus Im having a lot of acne, my skin its not normal, and I feel that the amount of body hair is increasing also. Please help me and tell me whats wrong with me!!!!!!

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Let me explain you , so that you will understand each & every thing about your disease.
Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome or Disorder( PCOD or PCOS) have following sign and symptoms.
1 Androgen excess manifesting as hirsutism ( excessive hair growth in females) & acne ( both these symptoms you have)
2 Menstrual irregularities , dysfunctional uterine bleeding or amenorrhea ( as you mentioned)
3 Obesity with glucose in tolerance.
4 Alteration in F S H/ L H RATIO.
5 elevated testosterone level
6 Ultrasound finding, of atretric follicles with increased ovarian stroma.
In my opinion get in above mentioned tests and ultrasound .
Consult a Gynaecologist or upload these reports over this site .
Hope I have answered your question.
If further any question I will help.
Good luck.
Dr. HET
