10 Year Old, Vomiting, Stomach Pain. Gall Bladder Removed. Normal Upper GI Test, Elevated Liver Enzymes. Any Ideas?
My nephew (10) had his gallbladder removed 3 weeks ago. He had 0% gallbladder function. He was fine for two weeks. Now he is having old symptoms all over again. Vomiting and stomach pain. After an upper gi test, nothing showed any abnormalities. However the liver has elevated enzymes. Any ideas on what could be causing all of the pain? I think liver enzymes up because of all of the pain meds taken recently.
Hi there, Thank you for choosing HCM for your queries.
I would request you to provide some more information on this. How elevated his liver enzymes are? Prior to removal of gall bladder how long was he having vomiting and stomach pain for. What color his vomiting is- and how frequently and where exactly in the stomach is his pain located- rt upper or lt upper ? Has he had his pancreatic enzymes checked for pancreatitis? Has he had an ultrasound of the liver done and what did that show? What pain medications has he been taking and how frequently and for how long? It is also imperative that you should inform the surgeon who performed the surgery about his vomiting and stomach pain and to have a complete physical examination done especially if he is vomiting continuously and is dehydrated.
