Brief Answer:
do not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to healthcaremagic,

Eustachian tube dysfunction is quite common and usually it is self limitimg.

It is usually predisposed by allergies or infections in the nose.

Please ask your doctor to rule both these conditions out.

If the ET dysfunction does not respond to conventional treatment, then it is advisable to undergo nasal endoscopy. In this procedure the nasal end of the tube is directly visualised to look for any growths in the back of the nose that can block the tube leading to its dysfunction.

If ET dysfunction is not responding to treatment then you may need ventilation tubes in your ears.

You can try a course of nasal decongestants nose drops like otrivin. Instill 3 drops in each nostril 3 times a day and follow it up with steam for 6 days. The drops will open the tubes.

You can also try valsalva exercises. Details of the exercise is available on youtube.
These exercises also help to open the tubes.

Regards,
Dr Rajkishori Godhi.
