Brief Answer:
Do you have any other health problem?

Detailed Answer:
When you need mitral valve replacement it can done either with Bio prosthetic valve or metallic valve. Bio prosthetic valves do not require life long anti coagulation, (blood thinners) while metallic valves have longer durability. As consequence if you go with bioprosthetic valve you may need second operation after about ten years.
If you have any other condition such as Atrial fibrillation that requires blood thinners any way its better to go with Metallic valves. If not and spending little more money and being ready for possibility of another surgery its better to go with Bio prosthetic valve which is much easier in terms of medication and follow up
