Question: My daughter, age 15, she has two anechoic cysts in ovary, first one is of 78 x 58 x 44 mm and second one is of 26 x 17 mm. Please suggest how risky they are and what are the consequences. Doctor has advised her contraceptive pills “ Drospirenoneand Ethinylestradioal” “Dronis 30”. Also suggest what type of surgery if needed?

Brief Answer:
Para ovarian cyst

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Greetings
I can understand your concern.
From the report they seems to be para ovarian cyst ,meaning not from ovary but from tissues around .Such cyst may not respond to the tablets she is taking.

Since the cyst is more than 7 cm I would prefer to remove them laparoscopically. If not they can grow larger and can end up in torsion which might involve ovary also.
So I strongly recommend for laparoscopic removal. They are simple cyst will not affect her in any way after surgery.
Hope you are convinced. Regards

Dear Sir,

Thanks very much. Please elaborate about laparoscopic surgery. Does it may effect her pregnancy issues at a later age.
