Brief Answer:
Dilation of a duct that lies within the pancreas

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Moving from the tail to the head of the pancreas, there is a single duct that branches out within the pancreas. The CT scan conducted has reported this duct to be dilated, which can have various causes to it like tumours, obstruction, etc.

In such scenarios an investigation called MRCP (magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography) is advised to have a better look and also to gain an insight on the cause for the pancreatic duct dilation.

I hope I have explained things in a manner best understood by you. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
