Brief Answer:
The bleeding can be delayed by 1-2 days.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
After taking mifepristone it is not necessary that the bleeding will start within 4 hours. The bleeding can be delayed by 1-2 days also in some cases. It can be associated with a sudden heavy uncontrolled bleeding that may need prescription medicines to control the bleeding. Just wait for next 2 days and let the bleeding to start on its own.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Ultrasound scan will confirm abortion.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The mild intermittent bleeding can last for 2-3 weeks. To confirm about complete abortion, you will have to get an ultrasound scan done after a week.
Hope my answer is helpful.

Brief Answer:
It will subside.

Detailed Answer:
The heaviness in the breast is due to the hormonal changes associated with pregnancy and abortion. The hormonal levels will come to near normal levels in next two weeks and this heaviness will subside on its own.

Brief Answer:
It is normal.

Detailed Answer:
The mild pain in the lower abdomen or in the vagina is also normal. It can happen due to uterine cramps.
It is best to avoid pregnancy for next 6 months so that she gets adequate time to heal well.
There will not be any problem in future pregnancies.

Answered by Dr. Dr. Rakhi Tayal (5 hours later)
Brief Answer:
It is due to old bleeding.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Passage of dark brown or black color mucus suggests an old bleeding. This is the left over bleeding in the uterus which is coming out now. It will also subside in next few days on its own without any treatment. No need to worry.
