Brief Answer:
health and hygiene care. abstinence . local antiseptic ointment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Dr Purushottam Neurgaonkar here. I welcome you to HCM VIRTUAL CLINIC . I have gone through your question, and I think I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1 ) First of all do not panic.

2 ) I would like to know -
Did you have any past history of urinary tract calculus (stone) ot urine infection , in the past or in the recent past. Was this bleeding associated with burning urination?

3 ) At your age,, I suppose that you are in post menopausal stage.
Many times in such situation, skin of the vulva and vagina becomes thin and vulnerable to bruising and infection.
I will also suggest to abstain from sex activity for few days ahead , as you have mentioned about it in your history.

4 ) I will suggest you to get gynec check up done at your convenience.

Till then, I will suggest -
- Hydrate yourself, drink plenty of water and fruit juices.
- keep the private parts clean and dry.
- Use of Lactacyd vaginal wash daily during the bath .
- use some local antiseptic ointment twice a day for 5 days, for the time being.

5 ) Lastly, please get hemogram, Urine Routine Examination, BSL - FASTING AND POST LUNCH, USG done.

This will help to identify the cause behind your symptoms.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.

I have had kidney stones in the past, several times I had cystoscopy for removal, and several I have been able to pass on my own. I am prone to uti's as well. My concern was the bleeding, of course. There is slight burning upon urination today.

Brief Answer:
scratch effect of stones can cause bleeding.

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,

Thanks for appreciating the answer and reverting back.

As you have mentioned about your past history of stones , it is very likely that you might have passed a stone again. Some stones have spike like projections that can cause scratches on the inner linings of the urinary tract. That might lead to bleeding, that comes out along with urine .

Burning sensation also can be the minor scratch effect and mild irritation to Urinary tract. I

I will suggest you to take plenty of fluids orally. Also, a prescription for a urinary alkaline solution will be of help.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
