Brief Answer:
fullness in renal PCS ( pelvi calacial system) can be a normal variation

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

PCS dilation on ultrasound can be because of

1. Obstruction of the urine drainage system by stones, tumor, tubeculosis, prostate and other diseases

2. Without obstruction- like in cases of stone where the the stone has just passed out in last 2 days. or in vescicoureteric reflux, or just because of passage of more urine.

So if ultrasound shows mild dilation and no evidence of any other disease in both the kidneys you should get a kidney function blood test and a urine routine test to find out any effect on the kidneys.

If PCS dilatation is moderate or the doctor feels that there is some disease operating then there is a point to do further testing like DTPA diuretic scan that will differentiate between obstructive Vs non obstructive fullness.

Brief Answer:
Get ct KUB to rule out any underlying illness

Detailed Answer:
In that case I think the best way should be to get a CT Scan KUB. to rule out any disease that may be causing such appearance on Ultrasound.

if urine routine, serum creatinine and ct are all normal then you can rest assured that nothing is there.
