Question: I'M A TEATOTLER..MY LAB RESULTS ARE
HDL 47
LDL 167
TRYGLI 210
CHOLESTEROL RATIO 5.8
SGPT 47
HBA1C 7.3%
GLUCOSE FSTG 143 , PP 176
Normal bilirubin
SGPT 27
ALKALINE PHASPATE 80
GET 41....

my question is whether I am diabetic/high cholesterol? Whether I need medication at this stage or can I control it by diet and exercise...?

Hi,
This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist from Fortis hospital.
HbA1c>6.5 & fasting blood glucose of >126 suggests diabetes. You definitely need medicine for that to prevent its progression. Doing exercise & diet control is also needed & will gradually reduce the need of medications if they are done properly & regularly. To start medication you should do a kidney function test & if that is normal I would start simply with a Tab Janumet50/500 twice daily before breakfast & dinner.
Lipid profile is also not good, but you currently do not need medicine for that as per current guidelines. If you want you can take a natural medicine called PRELIPID. Avoid fatty diet, junk food.
Also get a TMT done as a part of regular check up for cardiac evaluation & future cardiac risk assessment.

my TMT test reveal that cardiac test is negative and BP response normal...kidney test normal...prostatomegaly grade 1...please advise my kidney test are as below
right kidney 9.7×5,2 cm
left kidney 10.8×5,6 cm ...normal now evidence of calculi and calyseal
prostate measure 3.4x3.7x5.6 cm volume 27 cc with normal echo pattern
