Question: wanted to know about hypothyroid, what does it mean if the tsh levels are >7

TSH is an indicator of bodies demand for thyroid hormones. The demand is high as the amount of hormone secreted is low as seen in underactive / hypothyroid condition.
Your doctor might order for the rest of thyroid functions - T3, T4, free T3 and Free T4 levels before starting thyroid supplements. Report back to your doctor and plan the next process of management.
May I know why the TSH level was checked in the first place. If you have symptoms of hypothyroid, it would be better to start supplements soon.
