Posted on Mon, 6 Apr 2015
Question: My girlfriend took plan B almost 3 months ago, she bled after that for a few days or so. But now it is her 3rd month without a period since that, she has white discharge, but has failed 3 expensive pregnancy tests. Is there a chance she could be pregnant?

Brief Answer:
need more information

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir, welcome to healthcare magic.I understand your concern.
In my opinion as the pregnancy tests are negative the chance of pregnancy is less.
But before going to discussion I would like to know the following things :-
1)What is the height and weight of your girlfriend?
2)Are her cycles usually regular? And is this the first time for delayed or missed period?
3)When was the intercourse done after her previous period? And when was the plan B taken ?And how many doses of ipill taken?
4)When was the bleeding started after plan B?
5)Was the intercourse complete?
Kindly provide me the information.
Looking forward to hear from you.

5'4 126 her cycles are usually regular this is her first late period and the previous "period was caused by the pill which was taken within 6 hours of sex. The bleeding started a week after she took plan B and that was the last time she has bled, and i pulled out and if anything did get inside her it was very little

Brief Answer:
chance of pregnancy is rare

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir, thanks for the the information.I understand your concern.
It is good to know that her height and weight are appropriate.
In my opinion the delayed period might be the effect of pill.
The pill has high dose of progesterone hormone leading to irregular periods. This hormonal imbalance might delay the period or come earlier. The bleeding might be lighter or heavier.
Usually the periods might not be regular till 3 months.
As the pill was taken in time the efficiency is 90%. And also as the urine pregnancy tests are negative the chance of pregnancy is highly unlikely. So relax.
I suggest you to wait for the spontaneous onset of periods for a week and do the test again .If negative then take tab.meprate 10 mg twice a day for 5 days for onset of periods. With this medication usually you might experience the period in 3 to 10 days. This is a prescription drug.
If no period even after taking medicine then consult gynaecologist for furthur course of action.
I advise you not to take the pill regularly and follow the contraception like condom or birth control pills regularly.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss furthur.
Best regards...Dr srilatha
