Brief Answer:
Need a few more details related

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query,

I have read through your query and can understand your concerns,

Before I could guide you along the line of management, it would be better if you could provide me with few related details:

- her exact date of last menstrual period, that is, the first day of last menstrual period?

- does she have regular cycles till now? if not what is the normal duration of cycle?

- any history of thyroid or PCOS?

Ideally, for example, if the last menstrual period was on 1st of this month, then she will be in her ovulation phase from 14th. So if an unprotected intercourse happens during any time after 14th, chances are high for her to get pregnant.

Therefore, if you had an unprotected intercourse after 14th day, she may get pregnant. Urine pregnancy test usually becomes positive after 4-5 days of missing periods. If done before that, I would suggest you to repeat the test again.

A more confirmative test is to do the blood beta HCG test, which will look for the levels of Hcg in the blood. Hcg first rises in the blood, it then later gets filtered and reaches the urine. Therefore, if this is negative, pregnancy can be ruled out.

Hope this helps

Hello doctor, thanks for reverting.

- Her last menstrual period was 17th november and she got some blood spots on 9th of december but after that no flow was there so we had unprotected intercourse on the same night but no fluid went inside while penetration. She was expecting to commence the cycle on 16th of 17th but till now nothing happened.
From last one week she is getting some feeling to get it start but in actual nothing is happening and yesterday she was feeling quite low.

- last month cycle was quite heavy for her and it stayed for extra 2-3 days then usual

- her mother is having problem of high pressure

- will repeat the urine test again

We both are worried and scared because we are not prepared to having a kid right now..

Hi,
Thanks for the follow up,

As per our last talk, I would suggest you to get a repeat urine pregnancy test done today and if negative, you can rule out pregnancy.

If negative, I would suggest you to consult a gynaecologist for pain abdomen and discharge and get the proper treatment.

Hope this helps

Please keep me posted on the further outcomes.

Feel free to discuss further or else kindly close and give your feedback.

Brief Answer:
yes, you can rule out pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
Thanks for writing back,

The urine pregnancy test will not show negative even when done in the evening after 12 days of missing periods. You can now rule out pregnancy.

I would suggest you to consult with a gynaecologist in your area and may also test for cortisol levels, thyroid profile and also for anemia.

Hope this helps

Kindly revert back for any further queries.

Thanks and regards
