Brief Answer:
Probably abnormal response of BP to exercise

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HCM. I understand your concern.

The normal blood pressure figures, standardized for people of the whole world, are 100-130/60-89 mmHg. However, finding a blood pressure higher or lower than these figures are not always pathological. There are a lot of circumstances, such as physical activity, psychological stress, caffeine-containing beverages etc., are accompanied with physiologically increased blood pressure, or situations such as lying down, due to redistribution of body fluids, may physiologically lower the blood pressure. Even with all of this said, in your case, your blood pressure "jumps" after a very low amount of physical activity. I would only recommend, judging also by your age of 71-years old, for you to undergo a cardiac stress test, to assess the blood pressure response to physical activity.

I hope you find this helpful. If you have follow-up question, I would be happy to help.

Kind regards,
Dr. Meriton
