Question: Hello, I have a unique situation I think.
I am going to get more testing this week , but just curious on your opinion.

Feb 2015 took an std panel - all clear , negative, non reactive ...

October 24, same panel same lab
Anti-hcv reactive w / 1.31>1 ratio to cut off

Went to my GP October 29,

I haven't had transfusion, no tattoos in years, no risky sexcapades, no Iv drug use.

I am a heavy beer drinker, poor diet, take nexium, Advil, energy drinks ect ect

Life insurance physical came back:

ALT: 72
GGT: 121
Alkaline Phos: 92

Brief Answer:
Get HCV RNA test

Detailed Answer:
hello,
I have gone through the description you have provided. one of the two reports has an error. Hepatitis C antibody detection test can be false positive. the best way to conform would be to get hepatitis C RNA levels done and if negative would exclude the presence of infection.
I wouldn't look too much into the cause of transmission till the RNA test comes positive.
hope this helps

Brief Answer:
If HCV negative need to stop,/ cut down on alcohol

Detailed Answer:
hello,
you have mild ( less than two times) elevation in liver enzymes.) if there is no HCV infection then it could be alcohol related or secondary to pain killers and treatment then would be avoid alcohol and minimize pain killers.
hope this helps
