What Do My Lab Test Reports Indicate?

Question: Hello Doctor,

I have tested Positive for Australian Antigen. On Doctors advise I have got myself tested for LFT, HbeAg , HBV DNA Qualitative,

I have attached the Reports, please advise if there is something to be worried about. What do you advise after looking at the reports.

I understand your concern.
Do not worry.
Well your HBV DNA qualitative assay just shows if your test is positive or negative you need to get an HBV quantitative assay done which will show the exact value of virus copies in your load.
In addition your liver function test is normal, e antigen is negative which is good. It means virus looks silent in your body.
Worthwhile getting other tests like Ultrasound abdomen, getting yourself checked for hepatitis C and HIV is also important.
Over all possibly you are an inactive carrier who needs to be on regular follow up only. Also important to get your family members checked for hepatitis B too.
