How Should Abnormal Blood Sugar Level Be Treated While On Hydrocodone. Ibuprofen, Gabapentin And Zolpeden?
Question: Yes i am a 64 year ol white male. I am taking hydrocodone 10/200 ipuprofin 4 times a day for peripheral neuorpothy ( no diabetic related). I just had a compled physical. My renal and liver functions are all within normal range. The only out of range item was sugar (103). I am taking gabapentin (300 mgs) twice a day to help with the neuropathy. I am getting strange side effects of muscle burning and weakness. I also take zolpeden 12.5 CR to sleep with. Any suggestions or observation are appreciated.

negative on the nerve conduction test. All seems to be fine there. Am taking hydrocodone, not cortisone. Been on it too long I know (over 7 years). The gabapentine does not seem to be doing anything to help. Been taking 300mgs 2x. I have been researching MRSA allot today and will be calling my primary care MD tomorrow. I am going to ask for a redo of the antibiotic I had a month ago when I had my first active MRSA outbreak (open seeping sores). If I was a betting man I would say the Cipro I took 3 weeks ago and the gabapentin is interacting with the MRSA. Welcome your thoughts.

Causes of neuropathy?
Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Now the situation seems a bit more complicated; so you have open wounds that are visible lately, meanwhile the neuropathy persists for years?
Would you please explain the pain you feel? What kind of pain it is and where is it located?
Did you ever drink alcoohol in exagerated quantities?
I suppose thyroid function and Vit B12 are checked too.

Wounds healed after antibiotic use. Neuropathic pain is in both feet. Suspect spine trouble at L 4& 5. Have script for MRIO with and without contrast for lower Lumbar. Don't drink or smoke (never have). Thyroid is fine as is B-12. I take Vitamin D and B-12 complex each day. I know. Baffling. Imagine how my primary care docter feel after 10 years of this.

About neuropathy:
Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
If there is a vertebral herniation at lumbar region and the pain persists for years, than surgical intervention is recommended.
So, you need to confirm the diagnosis with MRI and discuss with a neurosurgeon for intervention.
As you see there are many side effects of analgesics and there is a definite solution for it.
