Question: Hi my 21 month old has a cold and he has been developing a few random spots in different places with yellow heads on them he has one on his finger at the moment which is very red around it what could these be please?

Hello. I just read through your question.
It seems like your son has a viral infection. The cold is very common in this age range and can last days to weeks before resolving. The rash, also common in viruses, may take longer to resolve. If you notice the rash worsening, or your son develops a fever or irritability, I recommend consulting with your doctor. If you notice anything oozing from the skin lesions, again, I recommend consulting with your doctor. Otherwise, we can allow the illness to resolve on it's own in time.

Thats a good question. If it is painful when you out pressure on it, or if it feels warm, it might be bacterially infected. If you notice that the redness is spreading, infection is even more likely. In any of these cases, he would need antibiotic. So consulting with your doctor would be appropriate.
