Posted on Wed, 25 Oct 2017
Question: Hi. I live in xxxxxxx. I've noticed for two weeks now, white cucumber seed-like particles in my stool. No pain, normal bowel movements, but maybe with blood in the stool too. Please advise. I have taken a picture, but don't know how to upload it here. Thanks. Dr. (PhD) xxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxx

Brief Answer:
worm infestation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I've read your description.

There are a few things to consider when a person says he has blood in the stool. The first thing is if it is really blood. There are some foods that might be in stool and give the impression it is blood and in fact, it is not.

Unless it is bright red blood (which is clear that it is blood), other times the way to know if you are bleeding or not is having a stool occult blood test or a stool microscopy that will confirm the presence of blood with the stools.

Seed like particles can be worm or larvae of parasites.

Initially, two tests are suggested--
Stool for occult blood.
Stool routine microscopy test to see ova/parasites.

You can simply upload/attach the pictures to the reports section of this web-page.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
need to get the stool tested at the earliest.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I've reviewed the attached image.

You should get your stool microscopy at the earliest as it looks like a worm infestation case.

Feel free to ask further.

Thanks!
