Brief Answer:
Weakness in legs could be due to electrolyte and mineral deficiency

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX welcome to HCM,

Weakness in legs could be due to electrolyte and mineral deficiency, especially sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium. Please check whether any of these are deficient.
Another possibility is there maybe spondylitic changes in your lower lumbar vertebra affecting left side.

There maybe some inflammation in your pelvis on left side.

Am glad your biopsy has come negative.

Has a sonography been done?

Can you revert back with answers and any further questions?

Regards

When blood work is done on me, I am always low in potassium even though I take potassium pill daily. I have been told to include more electrolyte in my daily diet. What type of test could be done outside of the blood draw that would reveal my deficiency? You mentioned inflammation which is what the urologist explained to me I had when he looked at my bladder. He has not mentioned a sonogram....however this test was done in the hospital in 2014 which of course revealed nothing at the time. I have made an appointment to see my primary care doctor on Monday. Then urologist says that I have OAB and prescribed
Etrace crème and oxybutynin ( of which I simply cannot stand taking).
Thank you....I am glade biopsy was negative too!!

1. What can you suggest on increasing more electrolyte in my diet?
2. Do you think I need a sonogram now and what specialist would do it?

Brief Answer:
fruits are high in potassium. Make sure you eat a lot of assorted fruits

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX fruits are high in potassium. Make sure you eat a lot of assorted fruits (not juices, as they contain more sugar).

I would definitely like you to do a sonography to rule out PID--pelvic inflammatory disease or a thickened and inflamed bladder wall. This is normally done by a radiologist.

In any case I think it will all get sorted out soon and you'll be fine. All the best, and regards.
