Question: I have no energy at all. I'm careful what I eat but cannot lose weight. I've gained 80 lbs since an accident in '92. I've also have the following: RSD(diag 1993 after knee injury misdiagnosed and treated with medications and (5) knee surgeries and both knees totally replaced. 1994-right knee and 2003-left knee) reflex sympathetic dystrophy systemic 1994. Started in right knee, now all over body. Kidney failure 2013 and 2014(still in failure. Congested heart failure(diag '97,), COPD(diag-1996), fibromyalgia(1999 diag)

Low energy can be systemic and the fact that you have low energy could lead to weight gain as you will reduce your daily activities.

Here is how you should go about it

1. Anemia is the most common reason for low energy. Get a complete blood count done to rule out anemia
2. Hypothyroidism can cause low energy and weight gain. Get a thyroid profile done
3. Low vitamin D levels can be the cause for low energy. Get Vit D levels checked
4. Diet pills are notorious for their side effects of causing low energy. I strongly recommend that you stop it and approach a dietician insead.
5. Regular exercises like walking 30 min a day will improve your energy levels and also reduce weight
