default
Posted on Thu, 18 Dec 2014
Question: My 1.5 yr old daughter is having some odd symptoms since last week. A couple of vomitting, sometimes colic pain in the night. Not very major but is a bit unpredictable. And the stool consistency is non-uniform though frequency is regular. So got a routine stool test done. Please see the report and let me know if there is any infection.

Brief Answer:
nothing to worry, viral bug will settle soon

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
I have seen the report.
It is normal.
The symptoms you described could be indigestion or viral infection.
No active treatment is required except for ORS solution if vomiting and loose stools increase. This will keep your child hydrated.
Zinc drops 20mg per day for 10 days will help in faster recovery.

As long as your child is active playful and passing urine atleast 6 times daily, there is nothing to worry.
This should settle in few days.
Wishing your child speedy recovery.
