Brief Answer:
It's mostly stomach related rather than the heart

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
The possibilities I can think of fitting the symptoms you describe are .
1) reflux gastritis, where the stomach acid post food is refluxed back into the food pipe many a times causing the feeling of heart flutter. So if you previously had some symptoms of bad stomach or are prone to it, mostly that's the cause.
2) because you are too young for any cardiac problem, it's a distant second possibility, where your heart beat s can run faster for transient period. It your symptoms are persistent, do get an ecg done during the symptom. And if they are occurring everyday, an ecg is normal 0a 24 hour holter would help.
I reassure you not to worry in this context.
My recommendations
1)avoid heavy meals, small more frequent meals will do the trick
2) loose weight
3) cut on smoking, alcohol, tea coffee, aerated drinks, chocolates for time being
4) no spicy fried food
5) avoid sleeping for atleast 2 hours post meals, dinner by 9 pm.
6) if medication Tab. Sompraz d 1 tab in the morning 15mins before breakfast for 2 weeks should I help.
Any further discussion on any doubt, I would be happy to help
Regards.

Thanks Doctor, I don't feel any heart pain, it is just the uneasiness. Yes I am prone to bad stomach and I have recently gained weight also.

I have stopped smoking now and generally don't take alcohol.

One of my concern is, can it indicates any lung disease because of smoking? I am not a heavy smoker but for last 2-3 months I was smoking around 5-6 ciggarates a day.

Thanks again for your help.

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms suggest gastroesophagical reflux disease (GERD)

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Because you are young the smoking related lung problems should not be that significant as they happen with more of long standing smoking for years, however if you are having dry cough, phlegm and feel breathlessness you may evaluate for lung pathology. Better will be pulmonary function test than a x ray.
I suggest you to start upon recommendations I suggested in the previous answer and mostly things should be good in 48 hours.
Also early and mild gastritis which may have increased due to increase in smoking and also weight gain makes your stomach more horizontal as compared to normal vertical position, which increases reflux henceforth it was my 1st diagnosis for you.
Any further question, I would be happy to help
