Question: Dear doc. This is a followup question. As u instructed i went to my doctor and he prescrobed me some anti fungal meds. Now since yesterday i am having a tingling in foreskin of penis. I went to my doc again. He said to do a blood test of herpes and syphillis to be sure. Given my symtons above and this new tingling symptom. Do you think they are related to herpes or syphillis. Please advise. I am damn worried... I did have couple of unprotected oral sex exposure !!

Brief Answer: Stop antifungal cream for a day; Do tests; Relax. Detailed Answer: Hi there. To answer your question directly , the tingling sensation more points to Herpes infection. However, a simple 'irritation' because of the antifungal cream is possible. Stop this cream for a day & see how you feel. Please dont be stressed too much. Do a herpes IgG & IgM test and a VDRL test. This will put your mind at rest. If my guess is right, it will all be negative. Put all this behind you & carry on. Do practice safe sex always from now on to avoid the anxiety. Good Luck & Best wishes & wish you a clear XXXXXXX of health! Dr Praveen Rodrigues MD

Dear doc. I was applying lotriderm cream. Which i stopped today. Thw follwing is the first question i jad asked earlier last week. Pleaae see I am getting these tiny white spots on my penis head..When i rub them they look like a tiny white ring of skin..like its growing back. After a couple of days the skin is plain and smooth at these areas.. there is no pain or itching or discharge of any kind at all.. again after a couple of days same thing happens at a another point on the penis head..once when this happen before i applied candid cream and my penis skin was smooth and perfect. but now again it has started i am worried what to do... I have not had any unprotected sex...only unprotected sex i had was with my wife a a week ago..and a couple of oral unprotected exposure. And also before a month i had my hiv test which came back negative...I am very worried about this.. Do you think it an std or some kind of fungal or bacterial infection. Please advise on it..I am very worried.. After u combine both symptoms what is your say in it. Please reply back .

Brief Answer: Candid B cream; Bld tests as advised Detailed Answer: From your history & clinical symptoms, & combining both histories, it appears like a fungal infection. The antifungal cream may not be suiting you. Please revert back to the candid-B cream for around 5 days. In the interim, pls do the tests as suggested. No need for worries...objectivity is the order of the day & if the tests are negative, its all good. Nothing to fear. Good Luck & Godspeed. Dr Praveen Rodrigues MD

Brief Answer: Please bury the past & move on..all clear. cheers. Detailed Answer: XXXX All is well that ends well. Glad all your reports have turned out normal. I will be out on a conference cum holiday starting tonight & unavailable the remainder of the week. The only bit of advice I can give you is to bury the past & move on. If Candid-B is not available, your pharmacist will surely be able to help you with an alternative. Perhaps a combination of antifungal & hydrocortisone can be used if combination creams are unavailable in Dubai. May I suggest mixing equal parts of Cannesten & Elocom 1:1 for best results applied twice daily for 3-5 days & stopped. Please do visit a local dermatologist if still not resolved as then it definitely needs to be looked at. Good Luck & Godspeed! Dr Praveen Rodrigues MD
