What Causes Tingling In Glans Penis, Fever And Chills After Non-penetrative Sexual Activity?

Question: hi, recently I have had a thai massage which involved oral sex with a condom on. After which, she took the condom off to finish with her hands. 2 days later I started feeling a tingling sensation on my the tip of my penis and had fever / nightchills. My testicles have had pain off and on with no swelling. It has now almost been a week. I am having severe anxiety over my current conditions which could contribute to what I am feeling. The tingling/sore testicles seem somewhat periodic. What are the chances I have contracted genital herpes?

Brief Answer:
Very little chances of contracting genital herpes. I Advise; PCR test.

Detailed Answer:
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

In my expert opinion, the way it went as you described, there are very little chances to contract the genital herpes. But you never know. A lot of patients have herpes without the actually genital sores. They may in fact others too.

I preferably suggest you to go for the most perfect test for this purpose and that is PCR to see the pieces of DNA of the virus and you will feel peace of mind after tha.

For pain take Ibuprofen and it will be relieved. Don't worry, and go for testing done right away. Your physician will help furnish you a script for the test.

Have a wonderful time ahead. Hope I answered all of your questions. Let me know if you have any further clinical concerns. I will be happy to get back to you shortly. If satisfied here, please give a five star rating and don't forget to close the discussion.

Thanks for the response. I have been to a doctor recently as well. She did not think there was anything to worry about. She ordered me a blood test anyways but I do not know if this will cover checking for herpes.

I had recently been in a pool for long periods of time and experienced chafing on my penis, but I could not tell if this was a factor of that or contracting something.

I guess my questions would be. What is the difference between general irritation of the penis head and 'tingling'?

How long after the tingling sensation would you experience lesions or boils

Do blood tests cover checking for the herpes virus or do you specifically need a PCR test.

Please advise.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Go for a Blood work.

Detailed Answer:
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you for the follow up query!

You seem to be very much anxious, and it is genuine health concern, you have to be.

There is no window period for contracting the infection and its actual symptoms to appear in the form of genital sores. Some patients as I told earlier have the disease but don't have genital sores. The itching and tingling may or may not be an association and there is no differentiation between the two terms as far as their feeling is concerned for the patient.

PCR is actually a blood test. They will take few ML of blood and will test it by PCR technique for Herpes.

Blood tests (I DON'T KNOW WHICH ONES YOUR DOCTOR ORDERED) are more than of a thousand types. Who knows she specifically wrote herpes or not. And Yes, we specifically need to mention PCR for Herpes DNA as a separate and major test that doesn't come in routine complete metabolic profile testing of blood which physicians do regularly.

So please go for the specific test as advised.

Have a wonderful time ahead. Hope I answered all of your questions. Let me know if you have any further clinical concerns. I will be happy to get back to you shortly. If satisfied here, please give a five star rating and don't forget to close the discussion.
