Brief Answer:
This is expected after surgery

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr. XXXXXXX
Thank you for your query.
I'm Dr. Shuba Hariprasad and will be answering your query today.

After a major surgery, the cutaneous nerves that were injured takes years to heal and regain function.
The tightness could be related to the surgical scar and possible adhesions (as expected after a complication with necrotizing pancreatitis)

I would :
-get a detailed medical history.
-clinically examine you to rule out surgery related problems like adhesions.
- run a CT abdomen if clinically indicated.

I recommend -
-eat a nutritious diet (in particular, those rich in Vitamin B/C)
-quit smoking (if you do) and alcohol
-gently massage the area that feels numb everyday In order to stimulate circulation and nerve healing
- do moderate exercise to improve overall circulation.

If it bothers and worries you, please consult your doctor to make sure all is well.
Please note that nerve recovery will not be 100% but will recover to a certain (variable among individuals) extent.

If you develop pain that lasts for more than a week or disrupts your routine, please see your doctor right away.

Hope I've been helpful.
Pleaseet me know if I can help you with anything else.

Wish you good health.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad
