Brief Answer:
Can be due to androgenetic alopecia.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to androgenetic alopecia (female pattern hair loss). This is due to excess of androgens(dihydrotestosterone).

Minoxidil 2% solution for local application will be helpful for this. This should be applied for at least 4 months to get effect and should be continued also.

Natural inhibitors of dihydrotestosterone like soy palmetto in low doses orally will be helpful also.

You can also take hair grow supplements containing vitamins like biotin, vitamin b12, niacinamide, amino acids like l cysteine, methionine and zinc, selenium and copper.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
It looks like androgenetic alopecia.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.

Thank you for your follow up query.

I have gone through your pictures. It looks like androgenetic alopecia also.

A consultation with dermatologist will be helpful.

Problems like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) should be ruled out also. Do you have regular periods.? If periods are irregular you can go for an ultrasound examination to rule out that. Excessive androgens in most cases are from PCOS. In such case metformin therapy will be helpful also.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.

Yes i have regular periods , every month since i started it . For that syndrome is it something that can be fixed ? I live no where near any dermotologists , so i will try the vitamins for awhile, the 2 % topical stuff , i think anything else will cost A few thousand , i dont want to go down that road yet though

Explained below.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.

Thank you for your follow up.

As you have normal menstrual cycle PCOS is most unlikely. Those who have PCOS may have facial hair growth and excess pimples also. If you having such symptoms then consult a gynecologist and do an ultrasound examination to rule out that. If positive you can take metformin therapy. Drug therapy with spironolactone also used in such case. This should be taken under the advise of gynecologist.

Minoxidil solution 2% is available as over the counter in brands like Rogaine. This is not that expensive. It should be applied twice daily 1ml to scalp at a time.

You can also take hair grow vitamins like follihair or other brands which has the contents i mentioned before.
You can also use ketoconazole shampoo twice weekly. This is available in various brands like nizoral. This is also helpful in androgenetic alopecia.

Include oily fish like mackeral, eggs, various nuts like almond , cashew nut, different types of fruits and various pulses in your diet also for getting enough nutrients.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
