Brief Answer:
Glands may pertain to the salivary glands when we talk about as glands

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
To recapitulate: Female/51 - wants to know whether the lymph nodes and the glands are the same things.

Ideally they are not the same, particularly when we talk about the region of the neck.
Lymph nodes are called lymph nodes or simply nodes.
The glands pertain more to the salivary glands.

If one describes about the nodes, it is meant more of a lymph node.

I hope this answers your query, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Brief Answer:
difficult to say.

Detailed Answer:
It will be difficult to say by what he meant by glandular.
As regards to swelling in axilla, one would say on examination the following.
Lymph nodes specifically if he is sure on examination.
Glandular means of glands and the commonest reference is for lymph nodes or to sebaceous glands, glandular breast tissues in axillary tail of breast.
Hence difficult to say what is your Doctor thinking unless he explains.
Ultrasonography is one good investigation to differentiate.
