Question: I have what appears to be tiny bites or some kind of rash only on my legs below the knees. They started about 4 days ago and they do not itch, they burn. What could this be?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this rash that you have reported. It would be extremely difficult to assess this rash and provide helpful recommendations without looking at it. I will recommend you send to me an image for review. This would be paramount so that I can provide a personalized and helpful response to you.

Brief Answer:
This is not entirely suggestive of bites...monitor!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the images.

Did you visit the woods/forest/farms recently? I have reviewed the image and these spots are so many that unless you were in an area prone to have several mosquitoes, it would be an unlikely explanation as to why you have these red spots. If you were, then it is probably the explanation. If you were not, we would need t find answers.

As of now, whether you were in the woods or not, the best approach would be to monitor and see what these spots turn into. It is my thinking that they would regress without the need for further medical attention. If that fails, only at that time would I recommend any further medical investigations.

Let me know what you take is on this. Until then, I wish you well.

Brief Answer:
Not typical of contact dermatitis!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

This image is not typical of contact dermatitis. Can you upload new images for me to see what the current state is? The change that might have occurred over these days could be helpful in pinpointing the cause. Also, is it getting any better, worse or about the same?

I hope to hear from you!

Brief Answer:
This is certainly getting resolved!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have reviewed the attached images. This shows progression towards resolution. I will suggest that you adopt a watchful waiting approach and this would regress slowly. Unless something else comes up, the images I have reviewed are more reassuring than the previous as regards resolution.

I wish you well.
