Brief Answer:
Look for hypoglycemia, hypotension or any additional symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:

1. Slurring could be due to stress or could be an early sign of possible stroke.
2. Look for
a. any weakness or numbness in arms, legs or face.
b. any deviation in angle of mouth, especially, when she talks.
c. any confusion
d. any visual loss. Ask her to look at the edges, and if she as any black areas, which she would see normally.
3. If any of the symptoms are present, you will need to take her to ER. Avoid giving any food or liquids, as risk of aspiration present.

If she has none of the above, hypoglycemia can cause slurring of speech. Improve her sugar levels and hydration. She should recover.

Also rule out any medication side effects (if she has started any recently) and check for possible low blood pressure

Hope it helps.
