What Causes Sharp Sore Pain In Upper Part Of Buttocks?

Question: my 12 year old daughter has been complaining of pain on the upper part of her buttocks. (both sides) usually after sitting for long periods. she says it feels like a sharp yet sore pain that temporarily hinders her from standing. she has been going through a growth spurt but not sure if I should be concerned.

Hi...This seems like a temporary tingling and numbness due to same position for long time. But please answer the questions below -

1. Is the kid over weight?
2. Is there any family history of sciatica - or femoral nerve problems?
3. Did she have any problems of spine previously?
4. Did this problem start after she had lift any heavy weight?
5. Does she have any other medical or surgical problems?
