Question: twinge lower right side of back..past few weeks. Last Tuesday had severe abdominal pain mainly just above naval. Appeared to be dehydrated. I'm drinking lots of fluid, urinating is fine, but I have not had a bowel movement all day, even after taking a laxative.

Brief Answer:
Needs ultrasound and Xray abdomen

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible.

First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately. Based on the history you have shared, since constipation history is short term, it doesn't seem to be the cause of trouble and renal colic should be ruled out. It's better to have urinalysis and ultrasound KUB at first to rule out hydronephroureter and any signs of obstruction.

Meanwhile keep drinking more water as long as urine output is not an issue. For constipation stool softeners like lactulose and gycerine suppositories can be used. If symptoms persist a Xray abdomen erect to look for any signs of dilated gut loops or gas levels. Adding ispaghol husk and fibre rich will help with the symptoms.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
