Posted on Tue, 12 Jan 2016
Question: My daughter is 3 year old and we have observed from past few months that in morning very bad breath comes from her mouth. We do brush her teeth night and morning. its very rare that she misses brushing her tooth. We are worried if persistent bad breath every morning before we brush her teeth is sign of any disease or its normal. Is there something we can do to help he with this issue.

We use "Aquafresh Kids Cavity Protection Toothpaste, Bubblemint " tooth paste for her. Please advice

Brief Answer:
Not necessarily a sign of any serious illness, needs more details..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the most common cause of bad breath in toddlers seems to be Poor Oral Hygiene..
Although you are brushing her teeth daily but there might be a possibility that proper brushing technique is not being followed and there might be uncleaned areas on teeth, gums as well as tongue..
I would like to know a few more details so that I can guide you better..

1.Does your daughter have any white or yellow coating on gums?
2.Do she breathe from mouth?
3.Does she complain of throat pain or gets fever frequently?
4.Does she complain of stuffy nose or has a chronic runny nose?
5.Is your consumption of onion and garlic or other high aroma foods in diet is high?
6.Does her gums bleed?

Any other problems if you ever noticed?

Kindly answer the following questions so that I can guide you better..

Thanks and regards.
