Hi,

I am sorry for the situation you are going through:

I need to have more information regarding your health condition before running into final conclusions:
- have you had any back x-ray so far? any problem with your spinal cord: eg. spondyloarthrosis? Sometimes such problems can cause hot spot on the back.
- you are saying that it is hotter than other areas but no visible rash? possibly an infection of under-skin layer should be also considered
- do you see any insect bite? or any other skin lesion locally?
- since when did you notice this?
- what have you tried so far?
- any recent outdoor activity? or any other physical activity?

Looking forward to have the requested information in for a more specific advice.

No back x-ray or spinal cord problem. Was in Turks and Caicos two weeks ago. Had a few mosquito bites on my legs, but not on my back. No local lesions. Had two very bad cases of dermatitis in the last three years, but the rash was quite severe. I was put on steroids. Only bothering me for the past four days. I've experienced hot itchy back before but not isolated to one spot. I attributed it to menopause. Outdoor and physical activity nothing more than usual. The internet is a wonderful thing but I don't like to research too much. I could have everything from MS to leukemia. Hope this helps.

Brief Answer:
possible dermatitis relapse

Detailed Answer:
Hi back my dear,

Thank you for providing additional information.

Taking into account your previous medical history, to my opinion, the hot spot is due to dermatitis relapse. I advise to take OTC anti - inflammatory medication.

If no improvement within a few days, should consult with your doctor as prescription steroids should be taken with other medications.

Hope it was of help!
