What Causes Redness And Swelling In The Lower Eyelid?

Question: Have slightly swollen lower eyelid, extending length of lid, from inner corner to out, light red, and feels like a bruise. Eye is not red. Vision not impaired and does not itch. Does not present as stye. Suggestions please?

Thanks for asking query on this forum.

Most likely you are having Stye. A stye is a red, painful lump near the edge of your eyelid that may look like a boil or a pimple. They are often filled with pus. They usually, form on the outside of your eyelid. But sometimes it can form on the inner part of your eyelid.

Treatment-
Keep eyes clean.
Apply eye ointment moxifloxacin thrice a day.

Take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin 500mg twice daily along with Tylenol twice daily. Cipro a prescription medicine, so need to see a doctor for a complete prescription.
Tab Cetirizine 10mg once daily (anti histaminic)

Take them for 5 days.
You should be fine.
