My mouth/lip are very red and irritated also my penis at the dark area , where foreskin was, is also slightly red and irritated(no real sores just red and irritated). where penis shrinks and skin bunches near head. Rash looks more like its on the surface of skin. Penis sometimes aches.Sometime it feels like there is leakage but there is no discharge. I also have chronic fatigue, with some days better than others. Very fuzzy headed. This has been going on for around 15 years, It started a few weeks after a deep kiss with someone. I have been tested for STI's on a number occasions. I have also been to many different doctors including ENT and skin with no results. I was put on an anti fungal med recently for a month, I could not tell if it made a difference.I have also tried many different prescription creams. My immune system has been tested a few times with no negative results. I give blood to the Red Cross so that has been tested to their standards. I am married 14 years and she states that she has no systems. Her lips are a little red around the edges but she does not complain about them. But my daughters lips are like mine. She was a C-section birth so the only way this was transmitted was by a simple kiss on lips. I have done much research online and nothing matches what I have. I have had other women before I got married that thought that they had got something from me but nothing seemed to materialize and they never got back with me. I know that this is something so I appreciate your help. THIS QUESTION WAS ORIGINALLY ASKED ON 4-08 but I was unable to respond before it was closed. The original answer was not entirely correct. Could it be answered again so I can follow up on it. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Genital yeat infection and chelitis are possibilities.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
Red and irritated lip might be due to various reasons like HSV 1 infection, Lick eczema, chelitis of various reasons and avitaminosis etc. This will apply also to your wife and daughters. Anyhow try to avoid kissing at least for awhile.
Red, irritated skin of penis, aching sometimes with shrinking foreskin are all fit with yeast infection. Rule out Diabetes Mallitus as you have fatigue. Yeast infection is common with Diabetic individuals.
Leakage might be possible due to precum. Yeast infection after confirmation by examination and investigations can easily be treated. Your wife also has to be examined and treated. Otherwise you may get a relapse.
STIs had been ruled out.As you had successfully donated blood chances of HIV is unlikely. You can consult a Dermato-venereologist. He/she will help you to overcome all your problems.
Get well soon.

I don't think it would be HSV 1 infection, due to the fact it is always there and their are no bumps or blisters. I researched HSV 1 infection and mine looks nothing like any picture, more like a red surface rash around lips an at the end of penis. There is no white blobs like a yeast infection. I suspected that and a few months ago I tried oral fluconazole tablets, one a week for a total of four weeks. I did not notice any difference. I may have felt a little better but that could have been the placebo affect. Like I said my daughters lips are red and chapped also and this concerns me greatly. My question to you would be, If I were to walk into your office with my described symptoms, what would be the test that you would prescribe? Thank you for all of you help.

Brief Answer:
Lip Eczema, avitaminosis, influence of climate or irritation to lips possible

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Investigations are not much help in your case.
I accept that persistent lesions without any blisters are unlikely to be due to
HSV 1.As there was no white deposits and also that you had tried Oral Flucanazole for four weeks, yeast infection also could be ruled out.
Only a careful inspection by an experienced Dermatologist can only solve your problem.
Allergy to saliva due to repeated licking, climatic sore lips, vitamin deficiency or any other irritation to lips are coming to my mind. So consult a Dermatologist and get well. Dr S.Murugan
